The platform

J&E Watch Auctions provides an online venue where sellers list watches and buyers bid on them. We are not the seller of any watch and do not take title. Authentication is performed by an independent third party; we do not ourselves authenticate, appraise or warrant any item.

Bids are binding

A bid is an offer to purchase at that amount. If you are the winning bidder and the reserve (if any) is met, you are obligated to complete the purchase. The buyer's fee (5%, minimum $100, maximum $5,000) is charged to your card on file when you win and is not refundable, including if you fail to complete the purchase. Accounts that fail to complete a purchase are closed.

Card holds

Each bid places a temporary authorization of 5% of the bid on your card. Authorizations are released when you are outbid or when the auction ends without you as the winner.

Sellers

You represent that you own the watch, that it is as described, and that all photos are your own. Reserves may be lowered but not raised while an auction is live. If your watch sells, you must ship it insured to the authentication center within 3 business days of our instruction. A fee of $49 is charged when the watch sells. If the watch fails authentication, the sale is void and you bear return shipping.

Escrow

The authentication center holds the watch until the seller confirms receipt of the buyer's payment. Buyers must pay within 2 business days of receiving the authentication report. Storage beyond 14 days may incur fees.

Conduct

No shill bidding, no arranging sales off-platform for listed watches, no sharing contact details in comments to circumvent the process, no abusive behaviour. We may remove content and close accounts at our discretion.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the transaction at issue.
